About Dr. Kecia Brooks-Smith-Lowe MD MPH FAAP FACP

Dr. Kecia Brooks-Smith-Lowe is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Convent St. Georges, Grenada. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Third World Development Studies from Smith College in Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Lowe matriculated at St. George’s University School of Medicine and in 1992 successfully completed her Doctor of Medicine degree.  At the graduation ceremony, she was  awarded the Geoffrey H. Bourne award for Outstanding Integrity and Motivation. Dr. Lowe completed a four year combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ from July 1, 1992 to May 1996. She served as Chief Resident in her final year.

Dr. Lowe returned to Grenada and formally opened her practice on 11th October 1999. She has been a clinical tutor at St. George’s University School of Medicine since January 2000.  Dr. Lowe was a Consultant in Internal Medicine at the General Hospital in St. George’s from August 2002 to July 2009.

Dr. Lowe resigned from her position at the General Hospital to pursue her Master’s Degree in Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She was awarded a scholarship to St. George’s University that permitted her to accomplish that goal in December 2012.

Dr. Lowe is also a Purna Yoga Instructor at the 500 hour level, and is co-founder of the Spice Harmony Yoga that is also housed at the Brooks-Smith Lowe Institute.
